The new National Youth Executive Council was democratically elected in April 2009, in accordance with the requirements of the Church’s constitution. Voting was done by means of showing of hands, which is in accordance with Article 2(c)(i) of the Church’s Articles of Association.
Pastor C.Mvuto returned his position as the President of the Youth Council. This position is unelected, but it is appointed by virtue of him being an executive member of the National Executive Council. As a celebrated academic, Pastor Mvuto brings in a wealthy of experience which he acquired by getting involved with the youths for decades now.

Deacon O Munhangu of Harare branch is the Treasurer of this council. Deacon Munhangu has over the years been involved with various national projects of the church, and that puts him on a better position to understand the general precesses of the church at macro level. He is married with two kids.
The youth council has three committee members, drawn from various braches, with a bias towards striking an equilibrium among all the Church regions in the country, without overlooking the important issue of gender equality. Brother Elias Nhengu of Sese branch is one of the committee members. Sister Mary Magoga of Vuravhi branch is also part of this committee, as a committee member. Another Sister, Debra Gumi, of Masvingo, makes this council complete.
The new National Youth Executive Council was welcomed by the youths, and the rest of the church members, a self evident fact which further points a finger at how the elections were help freely and fairly. Asked about the work this committee is going to do, the second secretary had this to say, “There is need for us, as youth leaders, to start by creating a conducive environment, for the youths, which stimulates their ability to grow into becoming good leaders.” The youth council encouraged all the youths to pay the stipulated subscription fee of R5 per month, or 6 USD per year, to ensure the proper advancement of all youths affairs. – Special Events Correspondent-
