24 HOUR PRAYER NETWORK LAUNCHED

24 HOUR PRAYER HOTLINES LAUNCHED
A 24-hour prayer network has been launched, under the banner of MICA INTERCESSORS NETWORK. No longer shall you wait to receive anointing from the powerful men of God at conferences only. Under this network, all your pastors can pray for your prayer requests anytime you happen to have one. The Bible says, “Pray for one another” (James 5:16a). The church wants to pray for all its members who have problems, wherever they are, and it does not matter what time of the day it is. The prayer network shall operate through the use of cell phone technology. Those with prayer requests will send them to the church’s prayer team, who will pray for those requests. Prayer requests can be sent by means of text messages. If you want to listen to the pastor praying for your prayer request, you can call him, after you have texted him a message with the prayer request. The prayer team consists of righteous men of God. The Bible says, “The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective” (James 5:16b). Members of the church might fall sick, wherever they may be, and they might have nobody to pray for them. Now this challenge has been overcame, and the church is saying, “Is any among you sick? Let him CALL for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, and the prayer of faith will save the sick man , and the Lord will raise him up” (James 5:14-15). Fellow brethren, your deliverance is just a phone call away. At the click of a button, righteous men and women of God will make powerful and effective prayers for you. We are still compiling the list of members who constitute the prayer team of MICA INTERCESSORS NETWORK. So far, the list of the prayer team members consists of the following:

MICA BULLETIN LAUNCHES NEW PUBLICATION

MICA BULLETIN LAUNCHES NEW PUBLICATION
In a new development that is envisaged to set MICA for a major uplift, MICA Bulletin is going to publish a weekly electronic newsletter, called MICA BULLETIN EXPRESS™. The electronic newsletter is going to have a different content from the contents of MICA Bulletin. However, this will not affect the current editorial policy, and print run of MICA Bulletin, which is available every month as a hard copy. MICA BULLETIN EXPRESS is going to publish sermons from various MICA pastors, evangelists and deacons only. These articles (sermons) can not be published in MICA BULLETIN because of issues around pagination. Sermons need more space, and therefore they are costly to publish as hard copy, as they create more pages. This means more bond paper, more colour cartridges, more resources, which all have a bearing on the costs of production. The other reason for launcing MICA BULLETIN EXPRESS is to give MICA preachers an international platform for their sermons to be heard worldwide. For those who are interested in receiving the electronic newsletter, MICA BULLETIN EXPRESS, must send their email addresses to us, at: MICA BULLETIN EXPRESS, 3630 Tynwald North, P.O.Westgate, Harare, or email: , or text 0914163963

2. RUTENDO MUONEKA, ZIMUTO
Hello Ed. I am one of the regular readers of MICA Bulletin. When i am at school, i won’t be able to get a copy of the newsletter. As young members of the church, we have to stay informed about what happening in the church, so that we can be nurtured as perfect leaders of the future. I was wondering if it is possible to get a copy of the insightful MICA Bulletin when i am here at school! I would be glad to hear from you.
EDITOR’S REPLY

CHURCH DRAUGHT FUND LAUNCHED

LAUNCH OF THE CHURCH’S DRAUGHT FUND
It has been predicted that there is going to be a draught this year. The rains have not been adequate in most parts of the country and this has adversely impacted on the crop yield. At national level, the country needs about 2 million tonnes of maize every year. Although no survey has been done yet, to ascertain the extent to which this year’s harvest is closer to this figure, it has already been advised that this year’s harvest is not going to be adequate. The country has already been advised to start importing grain from abroad, to the tune of at least 500 000 tonnes.
The Church has also responded to the envisaged draught by setting up a fund which seeks to acquire grain which shall be distributed to those who may be in needy. Those who are willing to donate maize or money are requested to do so through the Executive Council officials. The grain will start to be distributed at the end of the second quarter of the year.
The Church is also considering to engage donors who will assist in the establishment of this important fund. Most people will turn to church for help, in their hour of need; therefore it is important for the church to keep some reserves of food in anticipation of a draught this year

2010 CALENDAR PROJECT

2010 CALENDAR PROJECT
The 2010 calendar has been produced and is now waiting to be distributed at the Easter conference.
The 2010 calendar is an A1 size, and it has the school calendar, the national public holiday calendar, together with the church’s calendar of events and conferences. The calendar was designed and printed in South Africa, at MICA Press.
According to some a member who has been part of this project, 1 000 calendars have been printed, and every member who is going to attend the conference is likely to get a copy of this church publication. The calendar is going to be given for free, as part of the church’s programs to provide its members with useful resources for free. A calendar is very important because it will always guide the members about the forthcoming church events. Members would be able to plan in time, especially knowing what the yearly schedule is going to be like.
The calendar was designed with the church’s colours, which are blue, white and cream. The church’s logo is also on the calendar, together with Pastor Stamba’s picture. The calendar also features one other important thing, which is the theme of the year. Members have to wait and see for themselves.

HARARE MOURNS PATTY HOVE

HARARE MOURNS PATTY HOVE
Harare branch has mourned the death of Patty Hove who passed away early January this year.
Patty was in form two when she passed on, because of consistent stomach problems. Her parents are full time church members. Patty was buried in Zvishavane, Murowa. Some members from Harare branch witnessed the burial. Pastor Mhaka, Amai Chibaya and Sister Tsungi attended the burial to pay their last respects to the little girl who was taken by the Lord.
Patty was a bright Sunday School kid. She will always be remember for sweet songs, including:
Akasika denga, Amen Amen Amen
Patty participated in various church activities. She was one of the bridemaids at the wedding of Evangelist Bhiya, which was held in August 2008, in Chiredzi. Jerina Zihwa, who was one of the bridemaids at this wedding, had this to say, “She danced quite well at the wedding, with her partner Clemence, we are always going to remember her, for the time we shared while preparing for Evangelist Bhiya’s wedding. We would often meet every weekend, and we got to know her so well. We were just one big family. She left a huge gap in our hearts. We pray that she may rest in peace.”
Sharon Moyo, who was one of Patty’s best friends and now based in South Africa, said she was shocked to hear the news of her best friend’s passing on. “It happened unexpectedly, and i am quite shocked. She was an important friend to me. I am going to miss her so much.”
We pray that the Lord may heal the hearts of all those who are still mourning for her. “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds:” (Psalm 147:3).

MEET YOUR CHURCH YOUTH LEADERS

MEET YOUR YOUTH LEADERS.
The new National Youth Executive Council was democratically elected in April 2009, in accordance with the requirements of the Church’s constitution. Voting was done by means of showing of hands, which is in accordance with Article 2(c)(i) of the Church’s Articles of Association.
Pastor C.Mvuto returned his position as the President of the Youth Council. This position is unelected, but it is appointed by virtue of him being an executive member of the National Executive Council. As a celebrated academic, Pastor Mvuto brings in a wealthy of experience which he acquired by getting involved with the youths for decades now.
Brother Tongai Chiware was elected as the Executive Chairman of the council. Brother Tongai comes from Zvishavane/Chiredzi branch. Tongai is an exemplary leader who has gone all the way to set the trend on the proper way to get married. Tongai wedded his wife at a conference held in Triangle in August 2009.
Shepherd Chigwindiri of Davira branch was elected as the first secretary of the National Youth Council. We all know Shepherd Chigwindiri as one of the National Choir Directors. He is the former Choir Master of Davira branch, a seasonal award winning branch. Shepherd won an outstanding award of a Christian book in April 2007, for directing his choir to win the first prize.
Sister Tsungai Machadu of Harare branch was elected as the second secretary of the youth council. She has been involved with various Sunday School activities over the years. She is currently overseeing the writing of Sunday School modules, and their being proofread and translated into Shona language, by various specialists in this area. She got married in December last year and her wedding is on the 22nd on May. She has set a standard that makes her a leader by example.
Deacon O Munhangu of Harare branch is the Treasurer of this council. Deacon Munhangu has over the years been involved with various national projects of the church, and that puts him on a better position to understand the general precesses of the church at macro level. He is married with two kids.
The youth council has three committee members, drawn from various braches, with a bias towards striking an equilibrium among all the Church regions in the country, without overlooking the important issue of gender equality. Brother Elias Nhengu of Sese branch is one of the committee members. Sister Mary Magoga of Vuravhi branch is also part of this committee, as a committee member. Another Sister, Debra Gumi, of Masvingo, makes this council complete.
The new National Youth Executive Council was welcomed by the youths, and the rest of the church members, a self evident fact which further points a finger at how the elections were help freely and fairly. Asked about the work this committee is going to do, the second secretary had this to say, “There is need for us, as youth leaders, to start by creating a conducive environment, for the youths, which stimulates their ability to grow into becoming good leaders.” The youth council encouraged all the youths to pay the stipulated subscription fee of R5 per month, or 6 USD per year, to ensure the proper advancement of all youths affairs. – Special Events Correspondent-

FROM THE EDITOR'S DESK

FROM THE EDITOR’S DESK
2010 here we come!
We thank the Lord for keeping us through the year 2009. We would like to welcome you to this wonderful issue 1, Volume 10 of MICA Bulletin. Again, we have not forgotten the goals of this newsletter; which are to educate, inform, enlighten and entertain the members of the church with information pertaining to the church. This is our supreme goal and we shall continue to be guided by it.
This year we promise to make sure that you get your newsletter for free every month. We pray that the Lord may continue to provide us with all the necessary resources which are required in the production of MICA Bulletin. All our members, nomatter where they are, have to stay informed about what’s happening in the church.
We have to apologise for the competition that we ran in the previous issue of MICA Bulletin. We could not access the mails which were send to us by various members, because our post office box was closed while the competition was still running. In redress, we shall run the competition again in our next issue. So the scholarship program is postponed. We will run the competition, once we have secured a box at the post office.
This year we are dreaming big, as MICA Bulletin. We have expansion plans, which we are looking foward to implement. We want to increase our print run, we want to recruit more writers for MICA Bulletin. Our aim is to have at least one reporter in every branch. If God permits, we are going to recruit some of the writers at the April conference. If anyone is interested in becoming one of the writers, s/he should write to us at: MICA Bulletin, 3630 Tynwald North, P.O.Westgate, Harare, or call 0914163963.
We are pleased to inform you that a member of our editorial team has been tasked with the challenging work of translating and proofreading a Christian website from English into Shona. This editorial member has done the job excellently, and now the website is available in Shona. This shows how competitive the members of MICA Bulletin’s editorial board are. You can visit the website at: www2.bjnewlife.org/shone.html
We pray that you may have an insightful reading. May God bless you all
